    • Hotel was absolutely lovely
    • We liked everything!
    • We reserved a room for 2 her eon booking but then they said it was for a person only and we had to pay extra, but maybe is our fault or the description wasn't clear. If you arrive by train or bus and there is snow you have to walk some steep road (nothing unaffordable but better to know cause there is ice and you need proper shoes)

The Onsen was really nice, the breakfast too. Nothing fancy, but still cozy. Good base to see the monkey park but you still need to take the bus to reach the park

Staff are very polite, hot spring is great, is closed to a pharmacy which you can grab food and supplies easily. Close to yudanaka station

We loved that we could book a private onsen time each night. The Kaiseki dinner was beautiful and fabulous! Staff were so helpful and spoke excellent English. We stayed 3 nights to explore the area - snow monkey park, Obuse, Matsushiro and Matsumoto, and Togakushi. We had an amazing time in the area and were so happy to come “home” every night! It’s not fancy, but it’s lovely.

The staff were super friendly and kind. We really loved meeting them and they went above and beyond for us. We had the chance to book a private session in the outdoor onsen which is beautiful and a lovely experience. The bedroom had everything you needed and a great authentic stay. We also had dinner and breakfast which was delicious and presented beautifully. Great location, close to the train station and buses to the snow monkeys. Thank you again and would highly recommend

Although I only stayed for one night, I can highly recommend this Ryokan. The lady at reception was very friendly and spoke good English. The room was spotlessly clean and the outdoor onsen was fabulous.I will return, but next time with the rest of the family. Thank you for your hospitality.

Very nice onsen with exclusive access per room for free. Also very hospitable people at the service.

We were looking for something traditional and this place delivered. As close to authentic as you can get. There was no western furniture and mod cons (except modern toilet). Everything else including showers and onsen was! The onsen is beautiful, perfect and better than accepted and really close to the snow money bus. Breakfast was 100% traditional we loved it!

Beautiful traditional Ryokan with amazing Onsen near train station.Super friendly owner, would definitely stay again.

    9DianePosted on: 3-29-2025

The staff are amazing and very helpful. The breakfast was so delicious and colourful.

The rooms are a little small compared to other Ryokans however it’s enough for solo travelers. The futons and pillow are quite hard and I woke up sore in the mornings

Traditional style and friendly staff. Nice onsen. Nice room and facilities. Cosy and very comfortable.

Had to go out for dinner as restaurant not available in the hotel that night. But none of the restaurants near by were open either. Luckily local supermarket nearby. I was looking forward to breakfast but booking.com did not pass this on to the hotel or it got lost via email and hotel not able to provide without advance notice. Which they did make very clear at time of booking. I was so looking forward to the breakfast experience at the hotel. The hotel gave me a banana to keep me going.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Great location and very close to the train station. They were very informative with restaurants and things to do around the town. The outdoor onsen was amazing!

Small and quiet. Very clean. Good breakfast

The bathroom and onsen is too small.

The outdoor Onsen was lovely and it was magical to be in the hotlmwaters whilst it snowed. Staff were very kind.

It was very cold (we stayed in March) and heater in room turned off at night automatically. It was flashing an error code. With no instructions, we left it alone as it was a gas heater. I googled the heater and it advised not having it on whilst sleeping! The hotel is outside the main street area which was a 6-10min walk. This is a 2 star hotel by UK standards. Breakfast was 7.30 or 8am and our beds were tidied away whilst we ate, so no chance to relax for a while before leaving.

Amazing place ,just like advertised. Room was beautiful, staff were lovely (family run place), breakfast was very tasty ( they accommodated my vegetarian diet). Two indoor onsens (male/female). Outdoor onsen has mix bathing time and also everyone room can book a 30min private slot. Very well organised. Highly recommended!

I thought the ryokan itself was beautiful and the staff was extremely kind and helpful. It is a short walk from the station and they allowed me to drop off my luggage early so I could go out and do things. They have an outdoor onsen that each room can book privately for 30 minutes throughout the night. They also have a delicious food service (breakfast and dinner). I booked with breakfast, and the food was delicious. It was a traditional Japanese breakfast. I wanted to get dinner, as well, but you need to book that 5 days in advance (and I booked last minute). The hotel staff provided me with other local recommendations to be sure I didn't go hungry. The room was clean and warm (which was important because it was snowing outside). When I had to head back to the station, the staff offered to drive me because the wind was so strong. Overall, an incredible experience!

The indoor and outdoor onsens were incredible. The staff was exceptional. The rooms was very comfortable. Everything was very clean. The proximity to the train station was also very convenient.
